Read on to discover what you need to know about planning your wedding at Estate Vaucluse House.

Your Guide to Planning Your Wedding at Estate Vaucluse House
Estate Vaucluse House is not just a fabulous restaurant or a place to have afternoon tea – it’s also a renowned wedding venue in Sydney. The estate blends historic charm with modern elegance. It is the perfect destination if you want your wedding to have a classic and romantic atmosphere as it’s set on 10 hectares of enchanting gardens and grounds.
The estate dates back to the 19th century and it is one of Sydney’s only surviving 19th-century harbourside estates. This venue is incredibly unique as it’s actually one of Sydney’s living museums, which means that it recreates a historical setting to replicate its past. The mansion stretches all the way down to the harbour and features the house, kitchen wing, stables and outbuildings.
On the day of your celebration, you’ll have a gorgeous castle-like building as the backdrop, combined with lush gardens, greenery, a fountain, and an idyllic pond—how dreamy does that sound?
Also, on the day of your wedding, after your ceremony, you can have your own private garden party with cocktails and canapes on the front lawn of the estate.
Furthermore, the venue offers tailored menus for your day. They will use some of the produce sourced from the house’s own market gardens to create your menu. You can plan to have a generously styled banquet table or interactive food stations where your guests can engage with the chefs. This is sure to be a culinary experience that will delight everyone.

Ceremony Location Options
The estate has three different ceremony location options you can choose from, which include:
Lone Pine Lawn
You can choose to exchange your vows in The Lone Pine Lawn, which is its own serene and private oasis. The Lone Pine Lawn got its name for its solitary pine tree and it comes with gorgeous views of the estate and gardens. The lawn is also right next to the pleasure gardens, which is a beautiful location to take couple portraits or to share a first look with your partner.
Sandstone Verandah
Another option you have is the Sandstone Verandah of Vaucluse House, which is a great alternative—especially if there’s a chance of rain on the day of your celebration. The wide, covered sandstone verandah of Vaucluse House is surrounded by beautiful willow trees and native flora and fauna, creating an idyllic and serene backdrop.
The Southern Paddock
You can also choose the Southern Paddock, located at the rear of the property and featuring willow trees, a waterfall, and beautiful native flora and fauna.

Additional Features of the Venue
Guest Capacity and Amenities
Both the Lone Pine Lawn and the Southern Paddock have capacity for up to 120 guests. Plus, the venue has an in-house audiovisual services team, catering, and coordinators to work with. The maximum capacity for guests at this venue is 200.
Contact info
You can visit the estate by making an appointment. Appointments are available Monday to Saturday. To get in touch with the venue you can send an enquiry form here.
Tour the venue with your guests
Did you know that you and your guests can actually tour the venue together before your ceremony? Since it’s a living museum, you and your guests have the option of participating in a group tour. During the tour you can explore the impressive and lavishly decorated drawing room and its elegant interiors, the functional “downstairs” areas and more.

Accommodation Options Nearby
Unfortunately, the estate doesn’t have any on-site accommodations, but there are plenty of nearby options.
Here are some potential options you can choose from:
