I’m Nao — a Sydney-based wedding and maternity photographer capturing the quiet, emotional moments that often go unseen.
From intimate elopements to gentle maternity sessions, my film-inspired, documentary-style approach is designed for camera-shy and introverted couples who want to feel seen without performing.
I photograph love stories and life transitions across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Hunter Valley.
Not everyone loves the camera.
You don’t need to pose or perform — you just need space to be seen.
My sessions are calm, slow-paced and intuitive, shaped by my background in fine art and music.
I look for what most people miss: the touch before a laugh, the glance before a promise, the stillness before everything changes.
Bilingual in Japanese and English, I offer a relaxed experience that feels safe, respectful and real.
Whether it’s a barefoot elopement, a city ceremony or a maternity shoot before life shifts, I document the moments that will matter when the noise fades.
You don’t need to perform for the camera.
You just need someone who sees you — and knows how to make you feel at ease.
Let’s capture your day the way it actually felt.
I’m a Sydney-based wedding and maternity photographer creating film-inspired, documentary-style images across Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and beyond.
I've immigrated to Australia 20+ years ago and I've been working as a solicitor in corporate world.
My approach is quiet and observant — perfect for camera-shy, introverted or non-traditional couples who want to feel seen without performing. Whether it’s a wedding, elopement or maternity session, I photograph the in-between moments — the touch before a laugh, the pause before a promise — so you can remember who you were becoming, not just how it looked.
Bilingual in Japanese and English, I offer a calm, slow-paced experience that lets every session unfold naturally.
No forced poses. No pressure. Just genuine, cinematic storytelling that feels honest, human, and unmistakably yours.
From your first message to the final gallery, the process is calm, personal, and pressure-free.
I reply thoughtfully, not automatically — because the way we begin shapes how you’ll feel in front of the camera.
On your wedding day, I move quietly — offering gentle direction when needed, then stepping back to let moments unfold naturally.
You won’t be posed or managed; you’ll be witnessed.
My goal isn’t to create perfect photos — it’s to build an experience that feels safe enough for you to forget the lens.
That’s where the real, film-inspired moments live — honest, unguarded, unmistakably you.
Proposals don’t need to feel staged or stressful.
I help you plan the moment quietly — timing, light, and location — so it feels natural to you and unforgettable to them.
With my calm, Japanese-inspired approach, I photograph from a distance, letting the emotion unfold honestly while keeping everything seamless behind the scenes.
Sydney proposal sessions begin at $340 for one hour, including 10 film-inspired, hand-edited images.
Custom options are available if you’d like more time, coverage, or post-proposal portraits around the city.
Every proposal is different, but the goal is the same: to preserve the second before everything changes.
Maternity photography in Sydney for the in-between stage — before you become someone new.
I work slowly and quietly, letting you breathe, move, and forget the camera. My Japanese sensibility shapes each session — patient, observant, and gentle — designed for those who feel camera-shy or not “ready yet.”

Not every couple wants a big, traditional wedding. Some love stories are better told in a simpler way, honest, relaxed, and focused on what truly matters. Elopement coverage starts at coverage of up to 6 hours at $2,000 as a guide. If you want a full day coverage, you will need to consider if you want your getting ready photos (which you may need a longer package) or ceremony only.
It’s all-inclusive — no upsells, no hidden extras. I keep things simple so you can focus on your day, not the details. If you're planning something smaller or more last-minute, just reach out — I’m happy to work with you.
No confusing packages. No surprise costs. Just one clear option that includes everything you need — and nothing you don’t. I also take last-minute bookings when I can. EVERYTHING is customisable. Please feel free to reach out for a chat.
